Full production based the Saab technology Beiqi F25/F35 transmission ready today.

According to the plan, by the end of 2013, Beiqi power will form an annual output of own-brand passenger car engine, gearbox production capacity of 300,000 units, formed in 2015 to 400,000 engines and 400,000 transmission manufacturing capabilities.

After purchasing the technology for the old Saab 9-5 and pre-2006 Saab 9-3, Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co (BAIC) have further move towards manufacturing the Saab 9-3 and 9-5 as Beijing Auto branded cars in the Chinese market.

BAIC have purchase WEIGL Transmission Plant AB, the company that manufacture gearboxes for Saab and GM. Early reports say that the deal, worth 31 million Euro, has included the factory, production equipment and IPR for the F25 and F35 gearboxes that are found in the Saab 9-3 and 9-5.

F25 is the 5 speed manual gearbox in the NG900/OG9-3 1994 to 2002. They have the rod shift mechanism.

F35 is the 5 speed manual gearbox in the New 9-3 2003 onwards. They have the cable shift mechanism.

F40 is the 6 speed manual gearbox.

网易汽车12月25日综合报道 12月25日,北京汽车动力总成全面量产发布仪式在京举行,北汽动力宣布F25/F35变速器全面量产,北汽动力成为国内第一个拥有大扭矩乘用车变速器,从产品到制造并拥有知识产权的企业。

本次投入量产的F25/F35变速器是源自萨博原配的手动变速器产品。按照规划,2013年底,北汽动力将形成年产自主品牌乘用车发动机、变速器30万台的生产能力,2015年形成40万台发动机、40万台变速器的制造能力。

瑞典威格尔是萨博的原配厂,一直为美国通用公司配套,具有50多年变速器的生产历史。2011年2月23日,北汽集团正式完成了收购威格尔变速器厂的全部设备及技术文件的工作,该项收购使北汽动力成为中国第一个具有大扭矩变速器生产知识产权的企业。

收购威格尔变速器厂主要囊括了设备资产、生产技术资料和管理服务技术支持三个部分,具体包括F25/35变速器总装生产线以及22个自制零部件生产线(总计36条生产线),以及相配套的质量控制、维修试制、动力设备、备件备料,生产技术资料,产品资料等完整的变速器厂所必需的全部设备,工艺装备和生产技术文件等。而伴随着188个集装箱、149个大型设备和计量理化等设施于2011年10月完成全部搬迁。

北汽动力本次量产的F25/F35手动变速器完全基于萨博技术,是当前大扭矩的高端手动产品之一。其中,F25最大扭矩250N·m,F35最大扭矩达到350N·m。

据北京汽车动力总成有限公司总经理马童立介绍,为了保证和优化产品质量,在收购技术、设备的同时,北汽动力还获得了长达6个月的技术支持和生产培训。

北汽自主品牌涡轮增压发动机B205/B235已于2012年9月20日实现全面量产。

BAIC to begin producing new engines by end of December

BAIC’s subsidiary company, Beijing Automotive Powertrain, will be able to start manufacturing new series of engines by the end of this month, Economic Observer News reported today.

According to BAIC Group Deputy General Manager Ma Tongli, the manufacturer has already successfully completed testing of new 2.0 L and 2.3 L engines. Mr. Ma also revealed that, after four months of work, BAIC started assembly of the cylinders and cylinder heads necessary for the engines, and that full engine production will begin by the end of the month.

Beijing Automotive Powertrain was established in August 2009. The company, which is fully owned by BAIC Group, focuses on the research, development and production of engines and transmissions. BAIC’s investments in the company are planned to reach a total of ten billion yuan ($1.58b). The company’s total annual production capacity looks set to reach 400,000 engines and 600,000 transmission systems by 2015.

In December 2009, BAIC Group spent $200 million to purchase Saab technology. Then, in November of last year, the manufacturer’s subsidiary company begun successfully producing own brand engines, signifying that it had successfully made use of Saab technology.
